The Last Papa Fiesta

This week I played (and won) the 1,080th level of Papa Pear Saga. This was the final level of a game I have played since 2013. I have played this game when waiting in lines, during boring meetings or when I needed to be calm.  This is the first game with levels I have played until the end.  It took me eight years to do it.

Do I win anything for it?  No.  Do you care?  Probably not.  For me, it was my go-to game when I had time to play it or to keep my mind occupied.  Now I will be looking for a new game.

Papa Pear Saga is an arcade game which was released in 2013. The objective is to break all of the designated objects in each level by using a limited number of balls that bounce when they hit the specified objects or the sides of the screen. The balls even bounce against the edges of the tubes that are at the bottom of each level.

The game is similar to Candy Crush Saga, since both games come from King.com. In other words, you'll move along a map, level by level, trying to achieve the best score (three stars) in each level.

Some days I have played through several levels at once and others took weeks to get through just one level. The final level took the longest. I almost thought it was an impossible level to win.

I never bought any extras to play. Never spent any money on the game either. I just played and went through the levels over the years. There isn’t much strategy involved. Just point, shoot and watch. When you have successfully cleared a level, it is celebrated with "Papa Fiesta!"

In the past few weeks, a notice has popped up on the game stating that the game would be ending and no longer be supported. I managed to finish the final level in time.

So, today I come to the end of a game that has been on my phone and played throughout the past eight years. It has been a long bouncing ride.
