People get uncomfortable when you talk about Jesus. Most will talk about God all day long but mention Jesus and things get a little awkward. The room gets quiet and people will give you “the look”. The look they give is one of fear and skepticism.
What makes people so uncomfortable when you talk about Jesus?
The reason is that when you talk about “God” that doesn’t narrow down the field of all the gods that are out there. When you talk about Jesus, you then narrow down the doctrine to one man. That’s hard for people to take. Talking about Jesus requires someone to believe and take responsibility for their lives.
If you mention Jesus people will think you are one of those “Jesus freaks” and that you are seeking to convert them. Sadly, the crazies out there have given Jesus some bad public relations.
People are uncomfortable about Jesus. They don’t know what to do with Him. Most are intimidated by Him - especially when He said that He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. (John 14:6) People don’t like that. They want their own idea of God and not bound by Jesus to get to Him.
You’ll also see a lot of “Jesus” people participating in protests or speaking on behalf of Jesus to promote their own agenda. Jesus never participated in protests during his time on Earth. He didn’t spend his time condemning people or posting on Twitter. He loved people. He didn’t go around telling people they were going to hell.
He simply cared about people.
I think the church would do much better if they followed that example instead of building their own separate kingdoms and participating in political parties to promote an agenda.
Debates have never won anyone. Love is what wins people.
Somehow we all have to decide what we are going to do with Jesus. Was He just a prophet? Was he just another crazy religious leader? Was He actually the Son of God?
People are comfortable talking about God because there are many gods that people believe in but there is only one Jesus.

Why believe in Jesus?
Jesus is the only one who brings us into a right relationship with God. Reconciling humans with God is the reason we even talk about Jesus.
If you don’t believe in Jesus I can’t convince you with my words here in this blog but you do have to make a decision about Him.
